Friday, March 20, 2026|Club Communications

Drukpa FC has unveiled an ambitious youth development program aimed at discovering and nurturing the next generation of Bhutanese football talent.

The "Dragon Cubs" program will establish training centers in five locations across Thimphu, offering free coaching to boys and girls aged 8 to 16. Professional coaches from the Drukpa FC first team staff will oversee the curriculum, which emphasizes technical skills, tactical awareness, and character development.

"Football has the power to transform lives," said youth development director Lham Dorji. "We want every young person in Bhutan to have the opportunity to play, learn, and dream. Today's Dragon Cubs are tomorrow's thunder."

The program also includes partnerships with local schools, providing equipment, coaching workshops for teachers, and inter-school tournament opportunities.

Registration opens on April 1st, and the first sessions will begin on April 15th. The club aims to expand the program to other districts in the coming years.
